Home-based physiotherapy means receiving physiotherapy in your own home rather than travelling to a clinic. At Physio-Care, it is one of several ways we provide rehabilitation, alongside our other services.
Who may benefit
- People who find travelling difficult, for example soon after a stroke, fracture or surgery
- People with significant mobility difficulties
- Patients who would benefit from practising movement in their own environment
- Families and caregivers who want guidance on supporting a loved one at home
Whether home-based physiotherapy is suitable depends on individual needs. Some treatment is best provided at a clinic, and we will discuss the most appropriate option with you.
Preparing for a home visit
- Clear a space where you can move safely
- Have relevant medical reports and medication lists ready
- Wear comfortable clothing and supportive footwear
- Let us know about access details, such as stairs or directions to your home
- If possible, have a family member or caregiver present
